Reading Log 

It's super important that you practice reading!  Take 30 minutes a day to read!  Stop what you are doing and enjoy a book.  Whether you read it by yourself, to someone else or have someone read to you...I want you reading! 

Here is a reading log for you to record your reading!

2.RI.5 Activity

Know and use various text features (e.g., captions, bold print, subheadings, glossaries, indexes, electronic menus, icons) to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.

 Objective:  I can read and identify text features in a informational text. 

What is a text feature - Check out this site....PLEASE HAVE A PARENT WORK WITH YOU ON THIS!

Project #1 - Register for Time for Kids   How many text features can you pick out

Write them down. 

Take a picture and post to your student portfolio on Class Dojo. 

Project #2 - Create a book explaining the different text features.  What are they? What do they do? How do they help us with reading?
 

 

2.NBT.B.5 Activity

2.NBT.B.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operation and/or relationship between addition and subtraction.

Student Objective: I can fluently add and subtract double-digit addition and subtraction facts with regrouping.

2.MD.A.1  Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools

(e.g., ruler, meter stick, yardstick, measuring tape)

Student Objective - I can determine the length of an object using the appropriate measuring tool. 

Collect five (5) objects from around your house - inside or out.

Measure the object and record your findings.

Which is longer? Which is shorter?  How many inches? How many centimeters?
